Personal Development

The Personal Development at Maldon Primary School is underpinned by our 3 Core Values of Respect, Honesty and Hardworking. We follow the Jigsaw Mindfulness approach PSHE Programme which is embedded through assemblies and lessons.

There are two trained Thrive practitioners and the Thrive approach is used to support the Social and Emotional development of our pupils. All classes are profiled each term and individual children are then supported by a Thrive Practitioner or the school Play Therapist.

Police PhotoThere is a planned approach to assemblies to recognise significant days/ weeks. For example Mental Health Week included an assembly, activities in classes, plus parental workshops where parents were invited in to work with their child.

Visitors are regularly invited in to talk to the children and also children taking part in visits. Year 6 attend Crucial Crew and a 3 day residential each year. The Two Johns have visited and delivered lessons about e-safety to children, staff and parents. The Police and Fire service also regularly visit the school to talk to certain year groups.
