Computing (Including E-Safety)
Intent
Our computing curriculum aims to nurture a love of computing through mastering a range of learning opportunities. This will enable the children to develop their technology and computing skills. We aim to educate our children on the most up-to-date dangers, how to keep themselves safe and what to do if they are concerned about something they have seen online.
Implementation
Teachers use the Teach Computing online curriculum for the planning and teaching of Computing. This is supplemented by the E-Safety Project Evolve programme. Teachers have access to all of the resources they need to cover the computing curriculum. Each area of computing is covered and there is clear progression of skills throughout the year groups. There are lots of opportunities to develop independence and develop skills. The children will be active learners.
Impact
Our computing curriculum is high quality and demonstrates progression. Formative assessment takes place regularly allowing teachers to identify pupils that exceed expectations and pupils who need extra support. All of our children learn the principles of how to keep themselves safe online.
We measure impact through:
- Staff confidence questionnaires
- Pupil voice questionnaires
- Pupil engagement
