Intent

Our PSHE curriculum aims to develop children’s own understanding of themselves and their relationships with others through mastering a range of learning opportunities. These enable the children to develop both their understanding and their mastery of skills celebrating differences, health, relationships and changes they go through. In PSHE, children have holistic experiences through collaborative learning.

Implementation

Teachers use the PSHE Jigsaw programme to teach PSHE. This includes planning for each area, resources and includes key vocabulary.

Each topic shows previous learning and learning that will progress throughout the school.
There are lots of opportunities for making connections, developing independence and speaking and listening activities.

Impact

Our PSHE curriculum is high quality, well thought out and demonstrates progression. Formative assessment takes place regularly throughout units, showing any areas which need developing. This also shows areas which are stronger in the scheme.

We measure impact through:

  • Staff confidence questionnaires
  • Pupil voice questionnaires
  • Pupil engagement
